Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Athens

Kalimera and welcome to Greece! We will meet in the lobby of our hotel at 6pm for an orientation with our local guide before heading to a traditional mezze dinner at a local restaurant - think small plates, local wine or ouzo, and the perfect introduction to Greek cuisine.

If you arrive early today, I highly recommend checking out some additional spots in Athens: The Roman Forum of Athens, the National Gardens, and the Panathenaic Stadium (the original Olympic Stadium) are a few of my favorites.

Meals: Dinner

Included activities:

  • Welcome meeting
  • Mezze dinner at a local, traditional restaurant

Overnight: Evripides Hotel or similar

Day 2: Exploring Athens & The Acropolis

Today we dive into Athens’ rich history with a guided visit to the Acropolis - one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Walk through the ancient Propylaea, stand before the Parthenon, and take in panoramic views over the city.

Afterwards, you’ll have entry to the Acropolis Museum, where you can explore at your own pace.

The rest of the afternoon is yours! Before the trip, I’ll send a curated list of my favorite cafés, neighborhoods, and things to do so you can make the most of your free time.

In the evening, I’ll lead an optional sunset walk up Lycabettus Hill - my favorite sunset viewpoint in Athens.

Meals: Breakfast

Included activities:

  • Acropolis guided visit & entry
  • Acropolis Museum ticket
  • Optional sunset walk to Lycabettus Hill (led by me)

Overnight: Evripides Hotel or similar

Day 3: Day Trip to Delphi

This morning, we’ll head out of Athens for a full-day adventure to Delphi, one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. Set on the slopes of Mt. Parnassus and overlooking a valley of olive trees, Delphi was considered the center of the world in ancient mythology.

We’ll explore the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Athenian Treasury, and the ruins where the legendary Oracle once delivered her prophecies. Afterwards, enjoy an olive oil tasting and a home-cooked lunch at a family-owned farm with stunning views over the valley.

On our way back to Athens, we’ll stop in Arachova - a small, alpine village known for its stone houses, mountain views, and local shops - where you’ll have time to walk around and take photos.

Tonight will be our final evening in Athens. If you feel like joining me, I'll show you one of my favorite rooftop bars with a view of the Acropolis!

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Included:

  • Guided tour of the Delphi archaeological site
  • Olive oil tasting
  • Traditional lunch with scenic valley views
  • Photo stop & free time in Arachova
  • Optional evening rooftop bar visit in Athens with a view of the Acropolis (led by me)

Overnight: Evripides Hotel or similar

Day 4: Island Time Begins on Naxos

We’ll say goodbye to Athens and hop on a ferry to Naxos - the largest island in the Cyclades and one of Greece’s most underrated gems. Expect beautiful beaches, turquoise blue water, charming villages, and a laid-back island atmosphere that’s impossible not to fall in love with.

After checking in to our hotel, we’ll head out in the late afternoon for an orientation walk through Naxos Town (Chora) and visit the Portara, a massive marble doorway from an unfinished 6th-century BC temple dedicated to Apollo. It’s one of the island’s most iconic viewpoints - and the perfect first glimpse of Naxos at golden hour.

This evening, enjoy a delicious welcome dinner at a traditional taverna, where you’ll get an introduction to Naxos’ hyper-local cuisine (everything from cheeses to produce is grown right on the island).

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Included activities:

  • Naxos Town orientation walk
  • Visit to the Portara
  • Dinner at a traditional restaurant

Overnight: Nastasia Hotel or similar

Day 5: Free Day on Naxos

Today is yours to enjoy Naxos however you choose! Spend the morning with a dip in the sea or relaxing on one of the island’s gorgeous beaches, go in search of colorful doorways and cute cats, or dive deeper into the local culture with one of the optional activities available: a Greek cooking class, a boat trip to the Small Cyclades, or a guided village bus tour.

Myself and the local guide will be on hand with recommendations tailored to whatever kind of day you’re in the mood for!

Meals: Breakfast

Optional Activities:

  • Naxos Cooking Class - €125 per person (min. 6 participants) + transfer
  • Naxos Boat Cruise to the Small Cyclades (Kato & Ano Koufonisi, Rina’s Cave; includes lunch) - from €95/person + transfer

Day 6: Ferry to Santorini (Island Time Continues)

This morning, we'll leave Naxos behind and take a ferry to the stunning island of Santorini. Famous for its whitewashed buildings, blue-domed churches, and dramatic cliffside views.

Once we arrive, we’ll settle into our hotel before heading out on an orientation walk through Fira, the island’s bustling center. Stroll the narrow streets, discover charming shops, and take in the panoramic views over the caldera. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace - perhaps grab a coffee with a view or sign up for one of the optional activities listed below.

Meals: Breakfast

Included Activities:

  • Orientation walk of Fira

  • Sunset Dinner Cruise: 95 per person (dinner + transfer provided)
  • Catamaran Sunset Tour: 140 per person (includes dinner, max 16 people)
  • Wine Tasting: 40 per person (transfer not included)

Overnight: Cyclades Hotel or similar

Day 7: Santorini Caldera Hike & Sunset Dinner

Today we'll have a full day to explore the breathtaking caldera of Santorini. We'll begin with a scenic hike along the caldera rim from Fira to Oia, passing small villages and cliffside views overlooking the Aegean Sea. This hike covers approximately 12 km (~7.5 miles) and typically takes 3-5 hours, depending on our pace.

*If you prefer, you can take the bus to Oia and meet the group there.

In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore the island at your own pace. Consider visiting a local winery or relaxing at one of Santorini's volcanic beaches.

In the evening, we’ll meet for a farewell dinner with sunset views - the perfect way to end our time together in Greece.

  • Caldera Rim Hike to Oia (with optional bus alternative)
  • Private transfer back to the hotel
  • Farewell dinner with sunset view

Hi, I'm Allison!

I'm an American with 10+ years of solo travel experience across 42 countries and I'll be your host on this group trip. I've learned how to search out unique and authentic adventures around the world - something I'm passionate about sharing with others. If you want to meet new people and immerse yourself in another culture, I'd love to travel together!

I also recently led a women-only group trip to China. You can watch a video about that experience here.

  • Diana

China with Allison was an amazing experience! During the trip she was so open and available for questions or if any issue arose - I knew I could count on her to help me! I felt very comfortable in her hands and would highly recommend a group trip with her!! I also really appreciated her willingness to take photos of us - she obviously has an eye for photography so she inspired really great photo shoots and was always down to take your picture or take a video to capture your memories. Her positive aura is so special - she is a genuine beautiful soul and I’m so happy to have gotten to know her.

  • Kali

Amazing trip to China! Once in a life time experiences that I feel like I wouldn’t have gotten traveling on my own. Allison was also a great host! She did a great job of spending time and checking in with each person as well as getting to know those she didn’t know prior to the trip. She was also the easiest person to talk to and get along with, I felt like I had known her for years even though this was our first meeting. I would definitely go on another trip hosted by her and can’t wait to hear the deets on her next one!!

  • Kalina

I had an excellent experience with Allison in China! Allison was organized, thoughtful, and genuinely great to travel with. She gave clear, practical guidance before we left such as visa timing, apps we needed, and packing tips. On the ground, she was a natural conversation starter and kept the dynamic easy and fun. Her past experience in Chengdu made our free days exciting with spot-on recommendations, and it was equally enjoyable exploring new cities together for the first time. I’d happily join another trip she leads and highly recommend to anyone considering a new adventure!
